Just got back from a coffee shop where there were 2 dads strolling their toddlers in 3-wheeled buggys (the manly, rugged, jogger kind). It was a cute flash forward to our future.

There are going to be a lot of firsts in the coming days, months, years. Today's firsts: first pediatrician appointment, first visit to grandpa's house, first episode of Mad Men (Grandpa Tivo'd it for us). That second first led to daddy's first sunburn of the year.

Well, this year was not a great one for April Fool's Day pranks. Not for us, at least. We laid low all day yesterday, but had a potluck dinner feast with family. Just got back in from a walk around the neighborhood. Lemongrass pork bahn mi and smoothies at Ba Le were quite tasty.

We hadn't eaten since 8am so Mary's sisters brought food. We both ate some but only one of us had it come back up. But it was good. It meant progress was being made.

I'm not really comfortable selling myself, but here goes... I am not looking for someone who hangs with her girlfriends every weekend, but I'm not one of these needy artist types either. I am TOTALLY uncomplicated. ZERO baggage. Usually you'll find me either at the Cubby Bear or on the beach throwin' the ball with my best buddy Wrigley (part Lab, part Retreiver, part Chick Magnet). Sports are pretty much my life, so my ideal girl can sit back and watch two, three games and not talk...much. She also shouldn't have to spend an hour in the bathroom to look good before going out. She should be able to have fun both ordering pizza and 1) watching a game or 2) watching an Adam Sandler movie. Don't worry, I can totally be super romantic too. I've been known to try sushi, and Yellow Tail wine isn't bad for the price. If this sounds good give me a wink. No game-players or head-cases! If you're looking for someone to "talk" to all the time, get a shrink. |
